Flash Mode presents every selected word rather than automatically skipping words. However, reading faster can reduce comprehension, particularly with complex material. TempoLens lets you control the pace, pause and move backwards whenever needed. Choose the speed that fits what you're reading.

How is TempoLens different from other speed readers?

TempoLens combines fixed-position RSVP reading with a full-text Focus Mode, while preserving useful structure such as headings, lists and code. It works directly from selected text across the web and processes selected reading text locally in your browser.

Does faster reading hurt comprehension?

It can. Reading speed and comprehension involve a trade-off, especially with dense or unfamiliar material. TempoLens does not promise identical comprehension at every speed. Use faster settings for material you want to move through quickly and slow down when details matter.

TempoLens acts as the Data Controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data We Collect

A. Website Analytics

We use privacy-friendly analytics services to understand how the TempoLens website is used and to improve the website and our marketing.

Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregated information such as page visits, referring domains, approximate country, browser/device information and website performance.

Plausible Analytics provides aggregated website and campaign analytics and allows us to measure limited interaction events such as Chrome Web Store clicks, pricing views, reading-test interactions and team-license enquiries.

These analytics services do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We do not send the text you read with TempoLens, your browsing history, account credentials, license information or payment information to website analytics.

Analytics data is used only to understand website usage, website performance and marketing effectiveness.

B. Account Data

When you create an account, we collect:

Email address
Account creation timestamp
Subscription status

This data is processed via Supabase to authenticate users and provide access to the Service.

C. Payment Data

Payments are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store full payment card details.

Stripe may use strictly necessary cookies for fraud prevention. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details.

D. Contact Forms

When you contact us through our feedback or support form (hosted by Tally), we collect the information you provide, such as:

Email address
Message content
Category of inquiry (feedback, bug report, or support request)

E. Extension Data and Privacy

Ephemeral Processing: The extension analyzes text only when you trigger it. Processing occurs entirely in your browser's temporary memory. The text content is never sent to our servers.

Local Storage: Reading speed, preferences, and statistics are stored locally on your device.

No History Tracking: We do not collect, store, or view browsing history, URL logs, or page content.

3. Strictly Necessary Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies for:

Authentication (keeping you logged in)
Payment security and fraud detection (Stripe)

We do not use advertising, tracking, or marketing cookies.

4. Legal Basis (GDPR)

Processing is based on:
